Wanna Play in my Sandbox?
Wanna Play in my Sandbox?
I recently found out about Stephen King's Dollar Baby Project where that incredible writer made his short stories available for adaption and licensing as a $1 option for anyone wanting to make a 'non-commercial' project with one of his stories.
I straight away loved this idea and the collaborative attitude behind the idea.
I love the idea of giving new, emerging and alternative creative people an opportunity to play with my stories without commercial pressure or the usually prohibitive cost of seeking options and rights.
Obviously, a lot of my stories would already have been easier for me to write as short films and film scripts, but since they're not, here's an opportunity for someone else to give it a go.
Be it a Short Film, Animation, Graphic Novel, Comic or even a Game of some sort, if you want to take one of my twisted tales and give it a twist of your own, drop me a line and let's see if we can help you make your Dollar Baby happen.
Frank Darabont has dibs, obviously...
Did you know that Frank Darabont made his first short film as part of Stephen King's Dollar Baby Project? No, neither did I.
Darabont went on to make three of the best adaptations of King's work so far, but it started with a Dollar Baby option.
